What a Maktabah Book Fair Looks Like
We bring a hand-selected catalog of titles to your event, curated for your student population. Every title we carry is chosen with intention: diverse Muslim voices, high literary quality, and books that span every age group from board books through young adult and adult titles. Families browse and shop on-site, students discover books that look like them, and your school earns a percentage of every sale.
Our fairs run at school book fair events, Eid celebrations, masjid fundraisers, and community gatherings. Mariam, our Book Fair Manager, handles all coordination from first inquiry through event day.

The 2026 to 2027 Book Fair Season
We are currently booking school book fairs for the 2026 to 2027 academic year. Dates fill quickly, especially for fall and spring events that align with school fundraising seasons. If you are a school coordinator or community organizer, reach out now to hold your date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a cost to host a Maktabah book fair?
There is no upfront cost to your school or organization. We bring the books, the display, and the checkout system. Your school earns a percentage of every sale made at the event.
Does my school have to use Maktabah exclusively during the fair?
Yes. Maktabah serves as the exclusive provider of all books, merchandise, and promotional materials during your book fair event. This ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for your families.
How far in advance do we need to book?
We recommend reaching out at least six to eight weeks before your event date, though we do our best to accommodate shorter timelines when our schedule allows.
What age groups do you cover?
We carry books for every age, from board books for toddlers through adult titles for parents and teachers. Most of our fairs see the heaviest traffic in the children 4 to 12 range, and we make sure that section of our display is especially strong.
How does payment work after the fair?
Your organization processes the book fair financial forms and payment within two business days after the fair ends. We provide all the materials you need to do this.
What happens to unsold books?
We provide pre-paid return labels. All unsold products, supplies, and display materials are repacked in the original shipping boxes and returned to us via UPS. Full instructions are included with every fair shipment.
Can we request specific titles?
Yes. When you submit your inquiry form, let us know if there are specific titles, authors, publishers, or themes you want prioritized at your fair. We do our best to accommodate requests.
Do you offer virtual or online book fairs?
Yes. For schools outside our in-person travel area, we can set up a custom online fair your families can shop from. Reach out to discuss what works for your situation.
What if something goes wrong on event day?
Contact your Maktabah representative immediately if your fair does not run as scheduled for any reason. We will work with you to adjust the return and payment process accordingly.
